These recent photos illustrate some of the areas of the mysterious "Bridgewater Triangle" most closely associated with reports of paranormal phenomena.

Assawompsett Pond in Lakeville. UFOs and ghosts are associated with this large lake.

Another view of the lake from a secluded bit of shoreline.

Part of the swamp across the road from Assawompsett Pond.

An old cemetery sits next to the lake.

Lake Nippenicket in Bridgewater. Bigfood is said to stalk its wooded shores, and strange sounds reportedly are heard at night emanating from one of the lake's many islands.

Thick brush and swampy terrain surrounds much of the lake, known locally as "The Nip."

Woods and swamp line a stretch of Route 138 in Raynham. This area is the source for many strange tales.

Rows of small stone mounds, rock walls, and earthen depressions known locally as "Indian caves" are scattered throughout the woods in a remote part of Lakeville, near Long Pond. Though difficult to discern in the photo, these apparently man-made and probably prehistoric landmarks are readily apparent to visitors to the site.

Several stones of varying sizes, including a few chunks of white quartz, are scattered near this path deep in the woods. White quartz is associated with Native American sites.

In many places large rock walls and stone heaps can be seen. Though many are undoubtedly relics of when the land was cleared and farmed decades ago, some of the features hint at a more distant and mysterious past.
