Many witnesses saw a five-pointed glowing object in the Western sky between 8 and 10 PM. Some said it seemed to bob up and down before it went below the treeline. One woman saw it moving quickly around 10:00 PM, and 15 minutes later, the same shape was seen moving West over Portsmouth, R.I. Many people said that an unusual number of airplanes were flying over and around the object, and at least 3 people saw a greenish light glowing from one of the top points of the object. N.E. It was white with rows of small illuminated windows that sparkled. Later in the day, around noontime, 12 people in the Highland area of the city saw a round sphere with a glaring rotating light like a lighthouse. It made a soft whining noise as it hovered at about 1500 feet, then moved east before shooting straight up and out of sight. For 45 minutes, starting at 5:15 AM, a witness watched a strange jellyfish-shaped object. It was first seen as a light which approached, and when the witness chased it, he saw it had a dome that changed colors from clear white to yellowish to emerald green before moving off. Below the dome was a yellow band, and below that was a red, a green, and a white triangular tentacle, as well as a transparent or intermittent white projection. Witness felt there may have been communication. N.E. UFO Newsletter #14 Apr.79 p.5
Two newsmen from WHDH travelling from Rte. 24 to Rte. 106 glimpsed a brilliant light which turned out to be a UFO. Caught in a traffic jam on the way to the Raynham dog track, they were able to watch the object repeatedly hover, then move forward, then hover. They parked the car and watched the UFO fly directly overhead at an altitude of 1000 feet. (More to come!)

Two Portuguese fishermen on the trawler "Cristina and Sandra" saw a big circular UFO hovering over the water. It changed color from white to green to reddish orange, and had flashing lights and an antenna. The object disabled the vessel's LORAN system, and did not appear on radar. The men, fearful, turned away and left the area after five minutes. N.E. UFO Newsletter#15 Jul.79 p.15
A family of four returning from shopping at 7:20 PM saw a triangular object with a rounded edge like a cover to a baby grand piano in the sky. It had a red light on top, a spotlight on the bottom, and many sparkling diamond-like lights on the side. After 2 minutes they lost sight of the object. Two and a half minutes later, all four of the car's power windows mysteriously partially opened and then closed, then partially opened and closed again, without anybody touching the controls! Two minutes later, this happened a third time. Soon after, they saw the object again, at treetop level. When the family arrived home, the UFO seemed to hover above the apartment house across the street. Then the object appeared to approach and the family became afraid. The father and 5-year-old son got out of the car and saw it directly overhead when a laser-like beam of light about a foot in diameter came out of the craft and shone on the father, then the son. Then the beam shut off, the craft began to move away, and the witnesses saw it go straight up and disappear. (NOTE: Previous to this incident, the husband sometimes played a trick on the wife by manipulating the Cadillac's windows and claiming it was caused by a UFO! However, both his hands were on the steering wheel during the actual sighting). N.E. UFO Newsletter #15 Jul.79 p.1-6
A woman left her home around 8:05 PM and soon saw a strange, brilliantly-lit object in the sky. She stopped the car to watch the blimp-like craft. It was close to her, about 50 feet in the air. After hovering for 6-7 minutes, the "beautiful" object silently turned 90 degrees and started moving away. Witness started her car and when the looked back, the UFO had already disappeared. N.E. UFO Newsletter #15 Jul.79 p.7
A man noticed a glow like the Northern Lights through clouds at approx. 8:15. As he watched, the glow got more intense and the source of the light came through the clouds. The witness had never seen a brighter light in the sky except the sun. It had an apparent size larger than the full moon and the witness estimated its actual size as over 25 feet. The light came from the north, moving slowly, then banked to the west and slowly dropped below the treeline. Before the object was lost from view, the witness was able to see relatively dim white lights on its side, as well as a red light either on the top or the side. The lights did not flash, but dimmed and brightened at 10 second intervals. Several minutes later, a series of other less brilliant objects were seen following the same path through the sky. The witness called a relative at 8:30 who was able to see some of these lights. At around the same time, a member of NEUFOSG saw a group of aerial lights in the direction of Brockton, but it is unknown whether these incidents are related. N.E. UFO Newsletter #15 Jul.79 p.9 (Witness sketch coming soon!)

Between 9:20 and 9:30 PM, a witness had just passed through the Sturbridge toll exit on the Mass. Pike when she saw a row of blinking white lights. She expected to see a plane but when she got close she saw that the lights were on the bottom of a large circular object. When it passed overhead, she guessed that it was between 40-60 feet over the road, and it was wider than the three-lane highway. There were about nine distinct, large lights in a ring on the bottom of the disc, flashing in a random pattern. The witness later reported the sighting to the Mass. State Police. N.E. UFO Newsletter #19 p.3-5

UFO Newsletter #20 Oct.80 p.10
Alerted by the shouts of children in the street, a seven-year-old boy saw a "flying saucer" at 7:15 PM. He called his father, who also saw the object. It was like a metallic silver-gray bowl covered with a truncated cone made of light-reflecting plates like a glass-fronted skyscraper. The disc moved through an arc of about 70 degrees in 15 seconds while wobbling about its axis, almost with a rolling motion, parallel to the direction of movement. When interviewed later, the children said the object made a humming sound, dropped a green or green and white object, and looked somewhat like a blimp with a colored rudder. N.E. UFO Newsletter #19 Jul. 80 p.1-2
At 5:30 PM, three teenagers saw a red glowing round or discoid object through a window for 30 seconds before it vanished. They went outside and saw it again for the same length of time before it disappeared again. Then, they spotted the object a great distance away. It was blinking and moving away in an arc, then it was gone. The object was described as lenticular with a narrow red cloud beneath it and a red glow over the top. A faint rumble and humming sounds were heard. The next morning, a friend reported hearing strange noises in the area of the sighting. N.E. UFO Newsletter #20 Oct.80 p.10
A man looking in the Eastern sky at 5:50 PM saw a daylight disc moving with a falling-leaf motion. Mrs. Elaine Cetrullo was watching TV between 7:20-7:30 PM when she saw a large glowing object hovering over the rooftop of a two-story house 300 feet away. It was oval-shaped or discoid with a white band around the middle. When her TV started making a buzzing sound, she went outside to get a better look at the UFO. She heard a buzzing noise. Mrs. Cetrullo turned around for a moment and when she looked back, the object was gone. She described it as larger than a car, with an apparent diameter of 3 full moons. Simultaneously, Mrs, Jas. McCullough and her 16-year-old daughter saw a white glowing object like an airplane wing with colored lights on the tips in the area. Also, Mrs. Hilda Beck saw a "pickle-shaped" object with a fluorescent white glow hover, then shoot off in seconds, leaving a white trail. Neighbors of Mrs. Beck reported television interference and flickering lights at the time of the sighting. She called the police. N.E. UFO Newletter #22 Apr.-Jul. 1981 p.1-5

Ruth Hendron, a 64-year-old nun, saw a violet-red spherical or jelly-doughnut-shaped UFO rushing toward her bedroom window. The ten-foot-diameter object was marked with small yellow spokes. The UFO was approximately 225 feet away from the window, 30 feet above 15-foot-high fruit trees and in front of some 45-50-foot-high oak trees. It appeared illuminated from within. After about 15-20 seconds the center portion seemed to become brighter and the object blinked out. 20 seconds later, an identical but larger (20 ft.) UFO appeared and repeated the same display. Then, after 5-10 minutes, 2 more UFOs, with diameters of 10 and 20 feet, descended, hovered and disappeared in the same area as the previous two. These UFOs were the same violet-red color, but looked like airplanes, with square wings, a tapered fuselage, and tail fins, but no lights or propellers. Later, possible ground traces were found. N.E. UFO Newsletter #23 Oct. 1981 p.6-12

It had no lights but had a bluish-green flame at the rear like the flame of a Bunsen burner. Suddenly, the UFO stopped, then shot straight up into the sky. Whittier made the following estimates: altitude 100 feet; diameter 5 feet; length 10-15 feet; duration 5 seconds. The location of the sighting was near a USAF radar antenna station that had previously been the site of numerous UFO reports. N.E. UFO Newsletter #23 Oct.81 p.1-3
